Recently I have noticed that when my friends and I all want to hang out, we never know where we want to go and eat. I mean yeah, we do have our go-to places for some certain things but you can only go to El Taco so many times before you're ready for something other than chips and quest (I know, what a shock). Here's a list of 5 places that you and your friends should visit this summer that aren't your norm:

1. Jinya

Jinya is a chain restaurant, but it will be unlike anything you have ever had before. It is a Japanese restaurant, one in Sandy Springs and one opening up in Buckhead next month. These specialize in ramen bowls and let me tell you, they are right on the money. They have a set menu for you to choose from but from there the possibilities are endless. They have so many different ingredients available so you can make your bowl into anything you want.

2. Dr. Bombay's Underwater Tea Party

Snuggled right in Candler Park, this is a place you will never want to leave. The atmosphere alone will make you never want to leave. You walk-in through to front doors and you are met with the most amazing aroma of books and tea. Every wall is covered with books- only $1 a piece- and the profits go to help out the school in India that they support. The tea is some of the best around, and between the comfy couches, patio in the back, and long tables if you are going to set up high tea with some friends, you will have a place to do homework or just relax for the rest of your life. You won't regret trying this place.

3. Corso Coffee

Yes, yet another beverage spot BUT they offer food as well. This little gem is located just down the road from the Buckhead strip and can make a mean cup of coffee. Literally, the first time I went there I drank three cups in like two hours. It is an Italian company so the coffee is a little stronger but also taste 1,000,000 times better than anything you could ever get at Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts. If I could go to this place every single day of my life, I would.

4. Mountain Biscuit

Located right next to Kennesaw Mountain, it is a prime location for any Kennesaw student. They are only open until about 2:00 PM, but business is always booming. With their most recent expansion, they finally will be able to seat more people- it used to just be the tiny mom and pop store with four tables inside with the bar and a couple of tables outside as well. Their biscuits are some of the best you will ever have- my favorite is the chicken biscuit. Outside of breakfast foods they also have some really good burgers if that's what you are in the mood for, but let's be real, it's called Mountain Biscuit for a reason. Do yourself a favor and stop by ASAP.

5. J.D.'s Bar-B-Q

You know it's going to be good when their slogan is, "the 'que for you!" Every single time I have been there, they have disappointed. They serve top notch flavors at college student prices. It's a come as you are place, no need to dress up and make sure you look your best. When you go make sure you order yourself a nice cold glass of sweet tea, not only is it delicious but it comes in a hefty mason jar (you can't keep, by the way, I wanted to so bad). The food is delicious, the staff is the best around, and most of all the atmosphere makes it all the better.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
