Spring break is coming up! Which means... the sun, surf and...sunscreen!

Many believe sunscreen is the most useful only when the sun is out. This isn't true. Sun rays are always peaking through clouds... which means wearing a sunscreen even when the sun isn't shining is crucial. SO, it's important to wear sunscreen even when it's snowing!

Wearing sunscreen all day every day is vital. But how vital is it? Here are a few reasons for you to check out:

1. The biggest reason you should wear sunscreen is that it reduces your risks of developing deadly skin cancers, such as melanoma.

Using sunscreen daily, even when it's cloudy (or snowing, because come on, its Ohio), is crucial.

2. Sunscreen protects you from UV (ultra-violet) radiation which can cause premature aging.

So, by wearing sunscreen every day, you can prevent wrinkles from rapidly forming.

3. The use of sunscreen prevents skin discoloration or any facial brown spots, which can lead to dangerous skin diseases to form.

4. Sunscreen is important for people with all skin types!

Sun damage may be more prevalent in those with lighter pigmented skin, but it is something that occurs over time, even in those people with darker skin pigmentations.

5. And unfortunately, since the earth's ozone is depleting over time, that means we don't have as much protection from the UVB radiation.

This means, your skin needs more sunscreen now more than ever!

It is never too late to start wearing sunscreen and including it in your daily routine! More than sunscreen, be sure to integrate other ways you can stay safe from sun rays such as polarized sunglasses, hats, and sun-protective clothing.

Nowadays, there are so many types of sunscreens, that it's hard to figure out which are the most effective. Here is a link to find out which sunscreens are the best to use!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
