With the highly anticipated Georgia special election coming up, all eyes are on this race with potentially huge consequences. A win for the leading Democratic candidate (Jon Ossoff), could give Democrats the momentum they need to pivot towards a successful midterm election. With that said, if you are voting in the election on Tuesday, April 18th, (or have parents that are), here are five reasons you should vote for Jon Ossoff!

1. He's been endorsed by congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis.

John Lewis has marched with the likes of Martin Luther King Jr., and has said, regarding Jon, "Jon is committed to progress and justice and he knows how to fight the good fight. We should unite behind Jon and send a clear message that Donald Trump doesn’t represent our values."

2. He fights corruption for a living.

He is the leader of a company that investigates organized crime and corrupt politicians. He's helped take down human traffickers and brought some of the atrocities of ISIS to the eyes of the public.

3. He is well educated.

He has a master's degree from the London School of Economics (where he wrote his thesis on China and USA trade relations). He attended Georgetown University as well.

4. He's been endorsed by a prominent environmental advocacy group.

The Sierra Club, the largest grassroots conservation organization in the country, has endorsed Jon Ossoff for Georgia's special election, confident that he will fight to protect clean air and water for Georgians.

5. He supports rights for LGBTQ+ Americans.

If elected, Ossoff has promised to be a "strong and outspoken ally of the LGBTQ community." On his campaign website, he lists one of his priorities as being an advocate "against discrimination, hate speech, or violence against Americans on the basis of their race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or place of birth."

For all of those reasons and more, Jon will make a great representative and work for the people of Georgia's 6th district. What do you say? Who's ready to #FlipTheSixth?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
