When I joined my church worship team at the age of 15, I had no clue how important worship would become to me. I had no idea I would fall in love with something that until a few years ago, I honestly didn't know was something people did as a living. But wow am I glad that once I graduate from college with a degree in worship arts, I can lead worship as a career. That is such a privilege and responsibility.
Here are the top five reason I love leading worship:
1. Worship is the one place where everyone is encouraged to sing even if they don’t have a “good voice”
Worshiping God isn’t only for the vocally gifted people. We ALL are called to lift God up in worship.
2. In my opinion, congregational worship is as close as we will get to heaven on earth.
Revelation 5:13 says, “And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: ‘Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.’” All will lift God’s name in worship when we reach heaven. So when a whole congregation, a body of Christ, sing together as one voice it feels like maybe heaven will be something like that.
3. Worship songs ARE GOOD.
Maybe not everyone would agree on this one, but I for one think musicians that make worship music are extremely talented. They’ve chosen to use the gifts God has given them to lift His name higher, and they write and make some amazing songs that congregations love to sing.

5. It’s home to me.
If you’ve read my other articles, you’ve already got a broad view of what my story is. I’ve written before that I struggle with the idea of having a home. Worship is the one place I have always felt at home. Whenever I enter into a worship service I let out a sigh of relief because I know that I have found my home.
