When we ask ourselves who inspires us, what name do we take? For me, it would be Lilly Singh aka iiSuperwomanii.

Who is Lilly Singh? She’s a Video Blogger, a Vlogger, who began her career in 2010 and has ventured out to do other work like writing.

Want to know the reasons why?

1) She is true to herself as an individual.

She keeps a positive image of herself intact. This picture is something that she began building in 2010, one which amplified her as a South Asian Canadian comedian. This individual has allowed herself to grow a larger brand which has created numerous opportunities to achieve success.

2) She is dedicated.

She shows the world, that despite facing depression that she would continue to work on a platform that would allow her to grow into a successful Vlogger. Lilly shows the world that with persistence, one can accomplish anything. These accomplishments included having a large following, becoming a book author, a rapper, even a performer. Her dedication showed the world that she would accomplish everything she wished to, this was seen when she was listed by Forbes as an influencer and even through her numerous award nominations and wins.

3) She has built a platform for numerous South Asians in the West.

She has been a part of the small community outside of India, which establishes a name for her people. Her image as a Sikh American is a prominent identity within all of her work. In her videos, one sees Lilly stay true to her faith through her long uncut hair. This shows her dedication towards her identity. One way she stays true to her identity is by keeping her hair uncut and extended, as per specific rules in her religion.

4) She’s an advocate.

Shes is an advocate who fights for children's rights. Her fight for their rights has taken her back home to India. She is a UNICEF Ambassador, through which she draws attention to the needs of kids from all over the world. She is also an avid supporter of the Malala Foundation. This dedication shows that she holds a big heart which is being used to heal parts of the world that suffer.

5) She is fearless.

Through an interview with PopSugar, she shows the world the struggles she has faced and continues to face, especially with the identity she was born with. She showed the world that despite facing depression, she would try to make the world laugh. Lilly is an individual who finds herself through the work she loves and will try new things to keep her fans coming back.

Lilly Singh, aka iiSuperwomanii, is an individual who inspires many. For myself as a South Asian youth, she has inspired me to create the opportunities I want and soar for the stars.
