Five Reasons To Go See "Finding Dory"

The "Finding Nemo" sequel is finally here! It has been years since "Finding Nemo" had premiered in theaters and became a smash hit. The beloved movie had captured the hearts of thousands of kids and adult alike. "Finding Dory" is assured to be another smash hit especially since Ellen DeGeneres is returning as the very forgetful and lovable Dory. Fans of "Finding Nemo" are excited to see this long awaited movie and while I am sure everyone will be running out to see this long awaited sequel, here are just a few reasons to head to the theaters to enjoy this family movie:

1. "Just keep swimming."

This feel good film will capture your heart and show you the power of friendship and family while teaching us about loss and the ability to never give up and to be strong in the face of overwhelming odds. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie's humor and adventures as well as the characters strong belief in themselves to persevere. I found myself laughing every second of the movie! It is a film for everyone in the family to come out and enjoy.

2. "I look at you and I'm home."

"Finding Dory" is a film that speaks on the importance of family values and traditions. It is the friendship between Dory, Nemo and Marlin that gives the film its wow factor. You can really see the love between all of them and the lengths they will go to see each other happy.

3. "The best things happen by chance."

Sometimes things don't work out the way we thought and that is okay. In "Finding Dory" we see how the best things happen by chance and the things we plan don't sometimes happen.

4. "There is always another way."

Never let anything stand in your way and in the face of adversity try to be true to yourself. It was Dory's confidence in herself and in her mission that gave her the courage to combat the sea to find her family.

5. "I suffer from short term memory loss."

"Finding Dory" shows that even if you have a shortcoming, you do not have to fall victim to it. Through strength and confidence you can be strong and work through whatever you are going through to be a happier you. Dory suffers from short term memory loss and instead of letting it stop her from finding her parents, she uses it to remember how she lost them. It was the love for her family that pushed her to confront her problem and push through the haze. And then it was Marlin and Nemo's love for Dory that despite their fear of traveling the ocean again, they set off for another adventure of reuniting their family.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
