5 Reasons Why Fall Is The Best Season
Knight News

There is nothing better than the cool, crisp air and aroma of pumpkin spice that is the fall. No matter where you live, you can't deny the comfort that it brings, and although summer is over, the best is yet to come. From Halloween to Homecoming, there's something for everyone to look forward to. Here are some reasons why fall will always be the best season:

1. Football Season

You don't have to be a sports fan to admit that football season is definitely something to look forward to. Nothing can beat Saturday tailgates and barbecues. There's something truly special about a school or city coming together to cheer on their team, big or small. So get out your fan gear and get ready for football season!

2. Halloween

If you're anything like me, you love Halloween. And I'm not just talking about October 31st, I'm talking about all the things leading up to it as well: the pumpkin carvings, hot apple cider, hay rides, the whole nine. Nothing says fall more than some hot chocolate and some roasted pumpkin seeds, and I'm not passing up on the chance to dress as crazy as I want ever.

3. Reuniting with friends

Summer break is awesome and all, but getting to come back to school and reunite with all of your friends is the best. Everyone is pumped up for the new school year and down to have fun. Fall semester is always the busiest, but it's also the best. It's time to squad up again and make some memories to last a lifetime.

4. Cute outfits

One of my favorite things about fall is getting to wear jeans and sweaters, and if I'm lucky down here in Florida, a scarf or two on occasion. Fall attire is by far the best. You know when you walk outside and it's not hot or cold and all you need is a light jacket? Like those days you don't have to run the heat or A/C in your apartment, but instead just leave the windows open and let in the fresh air? Yeah, that's the best.

5. Homecoming

Whether you're in high school or college, you have to be excited about Homecoming week. It's literally the most perfect week packed full of fun events and not a minute of boredom. At UCF, we're fortunate enough to have comedians and musicians come, as well as the Spirit Splash and all kinds of great events. It's by far my favorite week of the entire school year.

So, don't fret summer break being over, because fall is without a doubt the best season. Yeah, you may have to hang up your bikini for a little while, but it's time to whip out your jeans, boots, and football jerseys and go stand in a really long line to pay five dollars for a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Happy fall, y'all!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
