This past weekend, I ventured to Randall's Island in NYC to attend my first ever Governors Ball. Overall, I thought it was a great experience. However, there were also some things that were not as ideal as they could have been.

Pros:

1. The performers.

No matter what type of music interests you, there will always be a performer that fits your style. They get a lot of big named artists which makes it really fun too.

2. The atmosphere.

The place is packed, but it's all people coming together to enjoy music. Everyone is happy and excited to listen to their favorite singers.

3. The food.

They have a huge variety of foods to choose from, and most of them look Instagram worthy.

4. The location.

I had never been to Randall's Island before, but it is a great venue to host a music festival. They were able to fit four huge stages, food, a minigolf course, and more.

5. Seeing friends.

With the enormous amount of people that attend the festival, you are bound to see someone you know. I was able to meet up with a bunch of friends from school that I hadn't seen since we left.

Cons:

1. The cost.

Despite me only getting a one day ticket, it still put a big dent in my bank account. Plus, the food and drinks there were extremely expensive, and if you are thinking of going need to take that into account when thinking about the expenses.

2. The heat.

This is obviously not always a constant problem, but with it being extremely hot the day I went and huge lines at the water stations, there were many people who passed out.

3. The people who got a little bit too drunk.

I saw many people stumbling around and not being able to control themselves. There were a lot of people being taken away in golf carts for not being able to handle themselves.

4. The people who push.

Nothing is worse than trying to enjoy a performer and being shoved all over the place. People get very aggressive when trying to get a good spot to see.

5. The traffic.

Being that everyone had to get over the same bridge, this caused a big traffic jam. It is most efficient to walk over the bridge.

All in all, I would definitely recommend attending Govenors Ball. It is a great experience that will allow you to do something really fun with your friends!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
