5 Possible Occurrences When Moving Into Your First Apartment

In October, you're expected to find your future ~froomies~, find an apartment together, and sign a lease. Wow... adulting!! All year you plan your color schemes and decorations. Everything is happy and fun until August rolls around and it is time to move in. It is a fun time, trust me, but there are a few unexpected situations that could happen to anyone. To better prepare you... here are five things one would not expect to happen BUT OH IT DOES.

1. The apartment management may lose your file.

REMAIN CALM! You still have a place to live no worries! Stuff happens throughout the year, and management is extremely busy with current and future residents. The situation will get resolved as the file has just been temporarily misplaced lol.

2. The keys to your apartment may or may not work to any door.

Whale... that is a situation that can too be fixed! So, again DO NOT PANIC! Your loving roomies will be there to save you and definitely will not make you sleep in the hallway. No need to worry!

3. No matter how much stuff you have, moving in will take at least 3 days.

It takes a while to get completely settled. Give it time! Getting everything from your car to the apartment is one thing, and that definitely takes a good chunk of time. It is another to put everything in it's place, and do not even get me started on decorating. We've taken AT LEAST THREE trips to various decorative stores, but I am loving the time with the pals I have not seen in FOREVER.

4. (A lot of) Glass may break...oops

So command strips are not as strong as one may think, and neither is the bottom of your fridge. Be sure to hang your picture frames and glass clocks with nails, even if you're just renting! The first few days could be rough with things breaking but everyone learns from their mistakes! Those cute decorations are a MUST. Just make sure to bring a broom and a dust pan!

5. No matter what happens, your year will be the best one yet because of the pals you are living with.

Pick me. Choose me. Love me. That is exactly what I said to the gals I'm currently laughing with around our island... jokes. But seriously, the memories are amazing. Enjoy every minute and and do not regret any of them! Live with the people that mean the most to you, because they will always be there through thick and thin.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
