At the beginning of my senior year of high school, my parents decided there was an ever-growing list of movies I should watch before I leave for college. We only ended up watching two of them, but it got me thinking.
There are certain movies everyone needs to see at some point in their life, and if you are anything like me over winter break, after about a week you are bored out of your mind. So, here is a list of five movies you can watch over winter break.
1. "Jurassic Park"
This book based classic has made a strong impression on the cinematic franchise seeing as there are four more movies that occur after the events in the first movie, and another to come to theaters soon. Jurassic Park takes you back to a time where dinosaurs roam the world in the form of a petting zoo/theme park setting. This park does not get a free pass on glitches, and add in genetically recreated dinosaurs, what can go wrong?
2. "Star Wars"
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away…. Another movie franchise that took the world by storm, Star Wars was once feared to not do well, but with its popularity came an extension to the series in the early 2000’s and again in the late 2010’s. This series takes you on a journey through different galaxies with the mission of defeating the Empire.
3. "The Princess Bride"
Mawwiage, mawwiage is what bwings us togewah today. Not a traditional love story, but not quite inconceivable enough to turn us away. Follow Princess Buttercup on her discovery of love in this book turned movie.4. "Harry Potter" Series
A holiday tradition. Break out those HP movies and enjoy reliving your childhood. The whole series takes up about 21 hours of your life, and with the Fantastic Beasts installments being added you’ll have even more time occupied by JK Rowling’s wizarding world.
5. "Grease"
Who doesn’t want to see Olivia-Newton John and John Travolta try to win each other over? Throw in a few musical numbers and place them all in the 60’s and you’ve got a perfect movie to pass the time when you’re bored.
