5 Moments That Prove You Love Ohio State

At freshmen kickoff, the crowd was quiet. But throughout your first year at Ohio State, you learn to love your new home. While you'll quickly learn that every "OH" must be followed by an "IO," there is so much more you'll learn about yourself.

Here are 5 moments that make you realize you love the Buckeyes.

1. You start calling it THE Ohio State University

You used to laugh at the pride students had about the school. Soon, you'll correct the stranger walking down the street saying it wrong.

2. Something bad happens, and you automatically reply "go Bucks"

If you do anything, from spilling your coffee to failing chem, to tripping on the Oval, your answer is "go Bucks."

3. You dance to "Hang On Sloopy" like it's the greatest hit of all time

Whether its a step touch, line dance, fortnight kick, or a twerk, this is your favorite song to dance to. By the end of your senior year, don't deny that it will be the only song you dance to.

4. You like the color red

Honestly, it had always been your least favorite color. But by now, you have 18 different full athletic outfits in the color. By the time you bleed red, the transformation is complete. You are a Buckeye.

5. You cry every time someone starts singing Carmen Ohio

At that first freshman kickoff, you didn't even know the words. Now you say it more passionately than any anthem. You cry at the end of every Ohio State game. This is the only time you hug your friends. You scream "how firm thy friendship O-HI-O" and look up tearfully saying the only two words that express all emotions...

Go Bucks.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
