Summer has finally kicked in and instead of feeling down because of your lack of plans and emphasis on your summer job, you should still find joy in trivial things that make up your day! The best way to treat yourself after a long day of work is some quality ice cream! Here are a couple of ice cream parlors you should check out this summer!

1. Big Gay Ice Cream Shop

With award-winning cones and sundaes, the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop started off as an ice cream truck until it gained enough popularity to open up a chain. The simplicity and quality of the ice creams is what attracts customers from around the nation.

2. Emack and Bolio's

Emack and Bolio's ice creams are colorful and original, with cereal toppings and double scoops that are priced fairly!

3. Eggloo

You've seen it on instagram, praised for the way the ice cream is presented in a delicious waffle surrounding. Eggloo is based in Chinatown, and is known for its' crazy toppings and customers' creativity.

4. Ample Hills Creamery

Because of the immense popularity at the Brooklyn location, a new branch has been created at Gotham West Market! Ample Hills Creamery is known for using local eggs and dairy (best way to go)!

5. Maman

A French bakery and ice cream parlor that is known for its originality and creamy ice cream sandwiched between two nut-filled chocolate chip cookies.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
