For anyone who loves those wiggly, fluffy little balls of fur, you know how much energy they have and how much care they require. This past Saturday, my family adopted two puppies from one litter, now putting us at a total of 7 animals in my household. As I am the only one home during the day, I have been the one taking care of them and let me tell you, that it truly is like adopting 2 babies. Here are some tips for all of you looking to adopt a brand new member of the family, and also some Do's and Do Not's.

1. Make sure that you are ready to give them lots and lots of love.

Please, and I stress this... if you can't give them your time and dedication, then please don't blame the dog when he pees on the floor. You must spend time and have patience with them because they deserve it. If you want them to be your best friend, you must make them feel that they are yours. Plus, puppies are cuddly and they want to be near you so that's always a positive.

2. Be prepared to follow them around the house and don't let them leave your sight.

And vice versa. They will sometimes follow you around and that is hard too. But if you take them out of your sight for just 2 seconds, they will pee on the floor. I promise. 5 times a day, until they are house-trained. But that is hard and frustrating, but it just comes with the territory. In a way, you're essentially helping to mold this tiny creature into your own personal best friend for life.

3. I recommend getting two simply because they will keep each other entertained for hours.

And, all of these awesome things are multiplied. So are the bad things but it is honestly worth all the struggle. The way that two puppies play together; I would swear there is nothing purer than two puppies laying next to you sleeping and yipping in their sleep.

4. They are a handful, but it will totally teach you how to manage a household.

Especially since I am the only one home this week for spring break, I have basically been taking care of the house and all of the animals in it. At this point, I would be an expert on how to keep any and all babies (human and otherwise) happy and well cared for. But seriously, because they are a handful, it teaches you how to manage and budget your time more than you would believe.

5. Once you have had the love of a puppy or any dog for that matter, you will realize how little we deserve their unconditional love.

No other animal on earth will lend their undying love to you, protect you no matter what, and make you feel like you are the only and best person on the face of the earth. For reasons we can't understand, dogs just naturally accept everyone and love you for who you are. Even as puppies they roll on their backs and are subservient to you; they want to serve you and cuddle you, and yet we as "higher" and " smarter" human beings can't even do that, so you tell me who is the better creature.

Ultimately, adopting puppies is a handful; there is no denying it. But they are the sweetest, purest creatures on earth and they truly will show their affection and love to you every day.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
