For the sake of this public article I have decided to omit each person's name and replace them with numbers:
1. Ex #1
My first real boyfriend. I was young but I was also dumb. The lesson ex #1 taught me was to not diss your parents or family members just to go hang with your significant other. I was definitely guilty of this at the time and I regret missing all that time I could've spent with my family, with this person.
2. Ex #2
This one was a pretty big deal. I said "I love you" to this ex for the first time. I thought he was my first love at the time but here we are. The lesson ex #2 taught me was to not rush into things within the first couple weeks of dating. Once again, I was guilty of this with this ex and we see where it ended up.
3. Ex #3
The lesson ex #3 taught me was that summer relationships tend not to last.
4. Ex #4
The lesson that ex #4 taught me was that it's not impossible to be civil and even be friends with your ex after you break up. No, it will not happen overnight but it's not impossible. In the long run things will work out in the end.
5. Ex #5
This is a biggggg one. No I was not with this ex for the longest but he took up the most of my time and energy. I was constantly with him every night and all day on the weekends. It was tiring and I was losing friends, my good grades and myself. The lesson ex #5 taught me was to not lose yourself just because you're dating someone else. This is critical for me now. It was a bad relationship at the time but now I can say that I am a better person because I was forced to go through not only this lesson but all of the lessons above.
