Considering Minnesota is known as "The land of 10,000 lakes," though there's actually 11,842, it's no surprise there are dozens and dozens of gorgeous travel destinations. From the North Shore of Duluth to the Twin Cities in the heart of Minnesota, here are fiveof the most beautiful hidden gems in Minnesota.
1. Stone Arch Bridge - Minneapolis
While the Stone Arch, is a fairly popular destination, there are many beautiful views surrounding the bridge. Mill Ruins Park, Gold Medal Park, and Saint Anthony Falls are a few of the amazing features around the Stone Arch, which is the perfect destination for a sunny, summer day.
2. Jay Cooke State Park - Carlton
Minnesota is home to 67 state parks, with Jay Cooke being one of the most beautiful. Jay Cooke, which is just outside of Duluth, has plenty of cabins and campgrounds for visitors to stay in, as well as four acres of beautiful land. Inside those four acres includes a historical cemetery, a swinging bridge, and plenty of amazing hiking trails.
3. St. Croix Boom Site - Stillwater
The St. Croix Boom Site, located just outside of Downtown Stillwater, is 26 acres of magnificence and hidden gems. If you're looking for an adventure, try to find the hidden waterfall, caves, and small islands within Boom Site. It's the perfect summer adventure! And after your exploration, stop by Nelson's Ice Cream for a delicious cool-down.
4. Lake Superior Zoo
The Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth is such a fun and gorgeous place to visit! With many different animals, including lemurs, kangaroos, and llamas, walking paths, and interactive spots, there's something for everyone! Visit the animals, take a walk, and enjoy the gorgeous waterfall all within the gates of the Lake Superior Zoo.
5. Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Located in Chaska, the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, owned by the University of Minnesota, features 1100+ acres of land filled with an array of flowers and crops. The arboretum is the largest botanical garden in the Upper Midwest and the most diverse in Minnesota.
So, if you're not already convinced, Minnesota is full of amazing places to visit. These are just some of my favorites! If you get the chance, definintely take a look at visiting one of these beautiful areas.
