Spring break has come and gone and here we are-- back at school with about a month left until summer vacation. You’re probably thinking, “How on earth will I survive until then?” but if you follow these easy steps, summer will be here in no time.

1. Go to events on campus.

Get yourself more involved in the community. Go to events and socialize with people within your classes. This will help keep you in the swing of things along with getting you excited for your future.

2. Actively use a calendar/planner.

Use a planner! Keeping yourself organized with to-do lists will lessen your desire to procrastinate and heighten your desire to get everything over with.

3. Use the nice weather as motivation.

Trust me, I understand how tough it can be to go to class when the weather is nice – but use that nice weather as motivation to push through. The sooner you survive the semester, the sooner the nice weather will be yours to explore and enjoy.

4. Help yourself.

Don’t be afraid to nap and recharge! It’s OK to take a break. Take a night off if you can. Do a face mask and open your window and clean your room and drink some coffee. Take some time to breathe.

5. Use the rest of your excused absences to your advantage.

(That is if you have any left). Use this time to catch up on assignments you may have fallen behind on or to get ahead on your end-of-the-semester assignments.

I know this next month is going to be really tough to get through, but I promise that you will get through it. Just use these tips to your advantage, keep pushing, and don’t give up!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
