5 'Grey's Anatomy' Cast Farewells To Alex Karev That Will Make You Ugly Cry Harder Than When 'Chasing Cars' Plays

In the most recent episode of Grey's Anatomy, the audience finally learned what happened to fan-favorite Alex Karev. It brought a lot of tears to viewers' eyes, and a lot of confusion about why his character would be going all the way back to his season one persona - throwing away the immense and deep development he has seen over the course of sixteen seasons.

I'm going to be honest, I haven't watched "Grey's Anatomy" since *Spoiler* Derek Sheppard died. But I've kept up-to-date on this whole Karev situation, and I can't help but cry alongside the avid watchers. Nothing, though, NOTHING has made me cry more than reading the cast's goodbyes to one of the original characters AND the man who brought Alex Karev from our TV screens to our hearts. So, prepare for an emotional roller coaster, because I guarantee if you have ever loved "Grey's Anatomy" - now or then - these farewells are going to pull at your already fragile heart strings.

Kim Raver

Kim Raver kept her goodbye simple and sweet, but I think it was that sweet picture that made me tear up. Teddy will miss Alex, and Kim will missed Justin.

Chris Carmack

Jessica Schmidt

Despite being a new cast member, Chris Carmack's goodbye to Alex Karev in "People" magazine was truly an emotional one. And he was 100% right - those flashbacks are the core scenes, the scenes that started on ABC in 2005 for some and on Netflix later on for others. Either way, they rooted a love for "Grey's Anatomy" into the hearts of many, and it's sad seeing those characters continue to leave.

Krista Vernoff

This showrunner's heartfelt words moved the tears from my eyes down my cheeks - watching Alex Karev grow and transform has been inspiring (which is why I'm not the biggest fan of the end of his storyline). But I'm also less of a fan of Justin Chambers not gracing our TV screens in that familiar white coat anymore.

Ellen Pompeo

Meredith Grey and Alex Karev were the only OGs left of the Fab Five. Now, it's just Meredith. I may not agree that this was the best ending to his storyline, but I do respect the opinion of the woman who played alongside the character for sixteen years now. Ellen's goodbye is one of respect and pride for our boy Alex Karev, and I couldn't help but smile with teary eyes as I thought of the legacy of Alex Karev.

Justin Chambers

Jessica Schmidt

And last, but certainly not least, Justin Chamber's heartfelt goodbye to his beloved character was the most tear-jerking. You can feel the love he has not only for Karev, but for the Greys family, as well. He was an OG in the OR, and we'll never forget that.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
