As a person who loves to adventure and experience new places, that often includes trying some yummy holes in the walls to chow down at! I’ve been to quite a few restaurants and dessert spots but these 5 are on the tippy top of my Good Eats list 😛

1. Ricks Reef

This seafood spot is super special to me. Often visited after a nice day at the beach, it holds a big spot in my heart (and tummy). They have the best grouper I’ve ever had & not to mention the prices aren’t half bad! The servers are awesome. Sit outside and you’ll be able to catch a nice breeze from the Gulf close by.

2. Nitally’s

A fusion of Thai food and Mexican food (I know an odd mix) but let me just say that this place is sooooo good. It’s a bit on the pricey side but it’s definitely worth it. Owners Nit and Ally (hence the name of the restaurant) make everything made to order, so whatever you get is sure to be fresh. Thai and Mexican food are both known to be pretty spicy but no worries you can turn down the heat! Just let your waiter or waitress know. If you’re feeling a little confused on what to get I highly recommend the Panang Mole Chicken burrito. So yummy! This place definitely delivers quality and quantity.

3. Mama’s Kitchen

Located in South Tampa, this little place is packed with some great breakfast food! This is quite possibly the best French toast I’ve ever had! Beats any chain reastaurants French toast. Get there early so you can catch a seat since it is a bit small inside.

4. New York, New York Pizza

This pizza place was my best friend on those drunken nights in Ybor City. Being a New York native I know what it means to have a good slice and this is the closest I’ve had to New York pizza! Located in the heart of Ybor you're sure to enjoy some good music or drink nearby.

5. First Watch

Now I know this is a chain restaurant but it seems not many people know of it. We are finally getting one in my small hometown of Spring Hill and whenever I showed how excited I was for it, no one knew what I was talking about! This cute little brunch spot filled with rustic interior design is so yummy. They have the best coffee I've ever had and if you ever get a chance to pop in, please try their lemon ricotta pancakes! 10/10.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
