In your four years in undergrad, you will make friends with all different types of majors, from theater to pre-med. You will gravitate to the people that are mostly like you, same major, same interests, but you should really branch out and become friends with people outside of your comfort zone. Here are some friends you should have, by major.
1. Art
Anyone that is majoring in something of the arts whether its theater, music, actual art, etc, is someone you need to be friends with. Their creative personality and spontaneity will no doubt carry over into your life. Everyone needs a little fun craziness in college and these creative minds will help you with that.
2. Nursing
Your nursing friends will undoubtedly save your life consistently over the course of your college career. For some reason, us non-nursing majors just assume nursing majors know everything that a doctor would know, even as a first-year student, but even if they don't know they will give you some of the best advice on what to do. They'll probably be your surrogate mom who you call if you have a headache or don't feel good and they will come by with Tylenol and make the decision if you need to go see a doctor.
3. English
You're going to need a friend to go to the library with, and with English majors workloads you can almost guarantee that they will always need to go to the library. But other than that these guys are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, a little crazy, but that comes with the territory of willingly putting yourself in a position where you will most likely have to write more than 20 pages on any given week.
4. Business
Your business major friends will be your voice of reason. They understand how the world works and they have a good head on their shoulders. If you need someone to just tell it like it is, no sugar coating, you can probably bet that your business major friend is going to let you know.
5. Education
Everyone needs a teacher friend. Some of the most selfless, helpful, and inspiring people you can find. They will make time for you, even when there is no time to be made. It's in their nature. They'll always help you in every way they can, no questions asked, no thanks necessary, just because it's who they are.
