A Butterfly, Witch, Princess, Devil, Vampire, Twin Witches, Pirate, Cowboy/Cowgirl, Cat-Woman...

Flipping through the photo-album that lays on a bookshelf in my home, you'll find that I, at one point, kept the same style of Halloween costumes every year. For three straight years, (from kindergarten to second grade), I was a witch that appeared in different outfits.

A couple years ago, I actually made my own costume where I borrowed my mother's black skinny dress, used makeup, made my hair crazier (than always) and created the "Cat-Woman," look. If I used a black wig, I would have become a character from The Addam's Family. Because of this idea came this article, where we can create outfits and costumes from popular or recent movies.

1. Pirate(s) from "Pirates of the Caribbean"

As a fan of the "Pirates of the Caribbean," dressing up as pirate that resembles Captain Jack Sparrow, or any character from the movie is always exciting. If you're on a budget, the easiest way would be finding a pair of dark pants or leggings, a white long blouse, tie a red (or any color) bandana around your forehead, and wear long boots. The only investment might be a pirate hat. To get a Captain Jack Sparrow look, I would recommend face paint, and makeup (eyeliner). For the hair you could use a wig (with braids) or if you have long hair you can braid it.

2. Wonder Woman

Online you can buy the 2017 version of Wonder Woman, or the 1975 version of Wonder Woman. If you want to make-it yourself, the easiest way would be finding a blue skirt, a red tank top, and a hand-crafted gold belt and headband to create the 2017 or 1975 version.

3. Logan (or Wolverine)

In order to achieve the "Logan" look (also known as Wolverine) from the movie, can be easily be made by hand. All you would need is a tank top, jeans, and make your own wolverine claws (you can even make it out of paper if that's all that you have). To achieve the bearded look and hair, you could grow it out or use make-up and fake facial hair. A leather brown or black jacket is optional.

4. Owen and Claire from Jurassic World

Owen's look requires green cargo pants, steel toe boots (or any boots), a blue jacket shirt and a vest with multiple pockets.

Claire's look requires a white (or beige) blouse with a pink tank top underneath, a white or beige skirt with a white belt, and a pair of beige heels. A red wing will complete the outfit.

Makeup will enhance the, "I'm running away from a dinosaur that's chasing me," look.

5. Maleficent

To become Maleficent the requirements are a black dress, black shoes, and makeup (if you can't get a black dress with long sleeves, then you could use a black cape). You would also need a choker (or a necklace) or you can make one along with the headdress with the horns using styrofoam and colored paper.

You can easily make these costumes with everyday clothing and little bit of creativity. Your costume will be more impressive than a store-bought costume.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
