With November starting to settle in, that can only mean one thing; Thanksgiving is right around the corner! It is a time to remember all the great people and things we have in our lives and to show our thanks...but is also a time to eat some great food!
Here are the top 5 foods I am most excited about this Thanksgiving.
1. Cheesy Potatoes
This one is a family favorite! Last year, I think I had about three plates of just this dish. This year won't be any different and I am ready to eat my weight in cheesy potatoes until I slowly slip into a food coma.
2. Green Bean Casserole.
Nobody makes a green bean casserole quite like my mom does. I look forward to hers every year. I normally hate vegetables, but my mom always finds a way to make vegetables appealing with this dish.
3. Mashed Potatoes and Gravy.
This one is a classic and it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without it. Also, it's the one time I actually get to eat Mashed potatoes that don't come from a mix in a bag so I always indulge myself every year.
4. Stuffing
Thanksgiving is the only time I give myself a free pass on this dish, so I make sure to eat way more than any person ever should.
5. Pumpkin Pie
I honestly really hate pumpkin pie but there's something about Thanksgiving that makes me look forward to having it for dessert every year. It reminds me of tradition and if I can't be with my family, I can always buy a pie and it's almost like I'm right there with them.
