Date night + Food = Love
So a lot of you might have boyfriends or girlfriends and want to do something fun for date night. Usually this means flipping a coin on a random eating place then maybe catching a movie afterward. It doesn't necessarily mean that's a bad thing (honestly, that's my favorite) but I like to go on adventures myself, so it would be really nice to get out and do fun stuff with my significant other. I have compiled a few ways to mix up date night, so enjoy!
1. Not your typical dinner and a movie
My boyfriend and I went in Charlotte during one of my visits and we went to a really cool dinner and a movie type places that was basically a big bar, club and movie theater that was pretty snazzy. We already had dinner before, so during the movie we decided to order some dessert and dang, that was some good stuff. You can have a great time with your S.O. and also do something a little different.
2. Amusement Park
Now this might be a tad bit expensive, but there are some awesome deals during the year that both you might enjoy. What is better then spending the day eating delicious food and riding the biggest roller coaster you can find.
3. Dinner with your parents
This doesn't sound like date night, am I right? But if you haven't broken the ice yet with the folks, why not have dinner and play a game with them? Oh yeah, I am talking about Cards Against Humanity or something equally as likely to make one of you blush. It is the ultimate icebreaker and you don't have to do anything more than read words off a card :)
4. Go on an adventure
My boyfriend and I a few times have picked a random town that's in driving distance of my town and we won't pick a restaurant till we get to this town and drive and walk around the town, exploring what it has to offer. This is the cheap college version of traveling to different states or countries every year, but it is very effective. We once found this awesome brewery about an hour out from my house, it had a restaurant and loved the theme of airplanes inside it. My boyfriend is a big airplane and flying fanatic, so what an interesting place to find.
5. Go to your local events
This past summer, Wake Forest, my hometown, had done once a month a Friday night event with music and food, and like the "tourists" we are, decided we were cool enough to go to this event. A lot of college students tend to stray away from things like this for fear of it be "uncool" to go but they fail to see that there is a lot of value here. We went with my mom and took the dogs a few times and loved every second of it.
