For my spring break while abroad, I chose a trip that traveled around Europe, visiting 5 different countries and 6 different cities in a span of 10 days. It was a busy, hectic, tiring trip, but I would not trade one minute of it for anything.

I came abroad with a long list of places I wanted to go and landmarks I wanted to visit. Although I am in Europe for an entire semester, there are only so many weekends I can travel, and taking one weekend to visit only one place takes time and costs extra money. This trip allowed me to cross countless items off my bucket list, so it was perfect for me.

On this Euro-trip extravaganza, I traveled to Berlin, Germany; Amsterdam, Netherlands; Brussels, Belgium; Paris, France; Versailles, France, and Barcelona, Spain. Here are my highlights from each place in case you ever find yourself in one of these beautiful cities...

Berlin, Germany:

- Berlin Wall (what remains of it--don't expect a huge wall)

- East Side Gallery

- Holocaust memorial

- Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp (intense, but well worth it)

Amsterdam, Netherlands:

- Rijksmuseum

- I Amsterdam letters

- Heineken Experience (super fun and interactive--highly recommend)

- Anne Frank House/Museum (buy tickets months in advance, they sell out very fast--definitely do if possible)

- Bakers and Roasters (amazing brunch!!!)

Brussels, Belgium:

- Grand Palace

- Waffle Factory (Belgian waffles--10/10 recommend)

- Neuhaus (Belgian truffles--also 10/10 recommend)

Paris, France:

- Eiffel Tower (sparkles for the first 5 minutes of every hour at night)

- Louvre

- Arc de Triomphe

- Notre Dame

- Palais Garnier (in 50 Shades Freed)

Versailles, France;

- Palace of Versailles (Hall of Mirrors is where Kim Kardashian and Kanye had their rehearsal dinner)

Barcelona, Spain:

- Brunch and Cake (BEST brunch ever--must try)

- Park Guell

- La Sagrada Familia

- the beach!!!

I saw so many amazing sights, landmarks, tried new foods, and immersed myself in different cultures. This trip gave me a new perspective on traveling and allowed me to see the similarities and differences between me and people from other countries/cultures. I was able to experience life in other cities and countries, some of which differed greatly to what I have become accustomed to in my temporary home in Florence, Italy. I truly believe that traveling is the best way to learn through the experiences I have had thus far.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
