Extra, the slang term for being over the top (according to Urban Dictionary). These US cities are the embodiment of "extra."

5. Miami, Florida

Known for its large Latino population and its high energy nightlife, Miami knows where its at.

4. New York City, New York

One of the most expensive cities to live in within the boarders of the continental United States, nothing says bourgeoisie quite like paying upwards of $3000 a month.

3. New Orleans, Louisiana

Once under the control of France and Spain before becoming part of the United States, New Orleans has history and culture that you can't find anywhere else.

2. All of California

Green juices, gluten free, vegan, and other health crazes (not to be confused with people who have allergies or other dietary restrictions) have taken over California. The excessive health craze that has consumed California has earned it a place on this list.

1. Las Vegas, Nevada

Nowhere says extravagance quite like Las Vegas. Vegas has become the premier spot for gambling, drinking, and overall entertainment. For a city that is located in the middle of a desert Vegas has an abundance of water fountains, hotels, casinos, show venues, and restaurants. Plus, it doesn't hurt that Las Vegas was originally built by the mob.

After all, Jimmy Johnson said it best "The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra."

When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
