The holiday season is quickly approaching and while you may be scrambling to figure out what you want to give to others. You should take some time to appreciate all the hard work you have done over the year and treat yourself to some things that will help for the year to come. Some are materialistic items, while others are just things you can do to yourself.
Self-care
This is referring to your hygiene, dump all the old makeup, get a clean hairbrush. Try meditation or catching up on a new book. Take time to really think about what you want your future to be like or what you want out of it. As we get older, we tend to forget ourselves and let ourselves burn out. Keep yourself in check and be responsible for what happens to you in the new year.
Upgrade everyday bag
Almost everyone has “The Bag” whether it is a go-to backpack that you lug everywhere. Maybe it is the cross bag that you take to the movies or grocery store. Either way, you might want to get a new one. I know when I get a new bag, it makes me want to do more productive things. It helps me get organized as well.
Get Psyched Playlist
I learned this from Barney on How I Met Your Mother. Barney was always so upbeat and loved his life and after seeing the New Year’s episode when he introduced his ‘Legendary’ Playlist. Now is your chance! Add all the songs that make you scream at the top of your lungs in the car. The songs that get you up in the morning. Yes, Disney songs do count. Music can pretty much help anyone through the day it is the right kind of song.
Bullet Journal
We try and we try and we try, but the diaries never seem to stick. Which is why using a bullet journal may be better for you. In it, you can write lists, diary entries, doodle, or even just write reminders for yourself. It is a low-maintenance way to put your life out on paper and fully understand what needs to be done.
One event ticket
After being with your family and friends all the time during the holidays, sometimes, being by yourself is a good thing. Try going out and doing something for yourself. Go to a performance, a poetry reading, or even to the aquarium. We miss some special things in our lives when we are too distracted by others.
