While Valentine's Day is still several weeks away, it's always good to get a head start on thinking about plans. The last thing you want is to be scrambling for ideas two nights before the "big day" while your S.O. thinks you already have something big planned. Give yourself time to think about some ideas! Below are some ideas that come to my mind and some tips and tricks to avoid spending the special day in booked and over packed restaurants.
Order takeout from your favorite place and have a picnic.
One of the best things about ordering takeout is that you don't have to deal with the hundreds of other couples who also made a reservation to eat at the same time you wanted. Instead of eating at a restaurant, you could plan a nice picnic outdoors (or indoors if the weather isn't cooperating) and it'll be more intimate than being rushed at a restaurant.
Stay home and cook your favorite foods and end the night with an at home movie.
One of my favorite things I like to do with my boyfriend is to experience new things together. Instead of getting something to eat somewhere else, you could try making something at home! Not only will it make for a delicious dinner but also for a bonding experience that you'll remember forever. You could always end the night with some Netflix and chill!
Instead of going out to dinner, go out to eat brunch.
Dinner places are bound to be booked and super packed. If you have the availability to go to brunch somewhere, do it! Lots of places have brunch specials and I'm sure there is something for everyone. It'll be a great way to start off your day and you'll have the rest of the day ahead of you for whatever else y'all want to do!
Look for restaurants that have Valentine's Day deals.
This one seems like a no brainer, but keep an eye out for the places that are advertising dinner specials!
Celebrate the day before or the day after.
This one really isn't a date idea but with everyone having jobs, it is not always easy for someone to be able to get that day off especially if they work in a restaurant. Just because you don't get the day off should not mean that you can't celebrate. If you go out the day before or the day after you can avoid packed restaurants!
