The 5 'B's' Of Break Every College Girl Deserves To Embrace Unapologetically

From staying in bed all day to a whole lot of binge watching, school break is all about the letter "B."

A break from school is a vacation from academic stress, dining hall food, and flip-flops in the shower. It's a chance to just relax and well, pretty much do nothing.

Below, the five "B's" of break:

1. Bed.

Your bed as a fixture of break is a no-brainer. A break from school means the chance to stay in bed and relax as much as possible. You have no major commitments (usually) and this is the time to grab the opportunity and maximize your time lounging around in your pajamas or sweats. In short, you and your bed are getting reacquainted with each other after too much time apart.

2. Breakfast.

This is similar to the "bed" concept. Sleeping through all hours of the day means breakfast can be any time of day. Breakfast becomes any type of food at any time. This is not something available to you at any other time of year, and this just makes this golden opportunity of eternal breakfast that much more exciting. From eggs and pancakes to cold leftover pizza, the possibilities are endless. Take advantage.

3. Binging.

From Netflix to food, I'm talking binging in all areas you can think of. You have a lot of time on your hands, and you need to keep busy. There's no shame in turning to the fridge or your laptop-or both. Actually, both is probably the best option here. So get out that tub of ice cream and that bag of chips, and go full force with that new series you've been trying to watch for months now.

4. Bloating.

Listen, the combination of too much bed, too much breakfast, and too much binging-in every sense of the word-makes the whole bloating issue inevitable. Vacation tends to lead to a lot of food and only a little movement. This then results in that fun little thing called bloating. Then again, let's be real. You're not doing anything too important or seeing anyone too important, anyway. Just embrace the bloat.

5. Boredom.

Well, you've been trying to stick to the whole excessive food and sleep routine for a while now, but you're thinking that something has got to give. You've finished the Netflix series, all the ice cream in the house, and your mom has...kindly suggested to you that a shower could be in order. Maybe it's time to explore the world beyond your bedroom. Just a thought. Probably a bad one.

So there you have it, the 5 big and bad "B's" of break from school. Whether your activity of choice includes any of the above lazy activities, or you're the more active type (God bless your soul) being on break is your time to shine. Now go ahead, enjoy your vacation, and most importantly, do not-I repeat do not- do anything productive.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
