It’s all about summer reading lists; no fall or autumn reading lists. No one ever really seems to talk about what books to read during the fall. In my opinion, fall is the best time of year to read. It’s cooler out so you can snuggle under a blanket or get in comfy sweats to read. Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte is officially out to buy, so there is amazing coffee you can try (if you haven’t already) while you read. You can make your favorite fall meal or snack to eat while you read. Or you can do any combination of the three! That’s why I love reading during autumn—it’s a comfort read. But the question still remains, what is best to read during the fall season? Well, here are five amazing books to read this fall. (Although, they can be read at any time and should be read.)

1. 'Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone' by J. K. Rowling

(Or any other Harry Potter book for that matter.) However, the first book in the legendary series is perfect for getting in the mood of fall. Featuring witches, wizards, and magical creatures the novel is fantastic for a Halloween-ish feel. Watching Harry get ready for his first year at Hogwarts, gives it that unique back-to-school feel. Plus, those scenes in the Great Hall where Harry and his friends eat it’s like it is Thanksgiving every day.

2. 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky

This is another great book for autumn. It also has that exciting back-to-school feel. This coming-of-age novel is told through a series of letters written by Charlie to his anonymous “friend” while he is going through his freshman year of high school making it different and interesting than your average story. It is also a nice book if you need a feel-good kind of read.

3. 'The Scarlet Letter' by Nathaniel Hawthorne

Considered his “masterwork,” Hawthorne’s novel is great for the fall-feeling. The story takes place during 17th Century Puritan, Boston, Massachusetts right before the Salem Witch Trials and the scandalous, mystery that is quickly spread through the town gives it an almost Halloween-like feel.

4. 'The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde' by Robert Louis Stevenson

Now this book is awesome if you’re ready for Halloween because of the mystery thriller that is presented. The novella follows London lawyer Gabriel John Utterson investigating the odd occurrences between his friend Dr. Henry Jekyll and the evil Edward Hyde. Furthermore, the characters created by the author will be featured in this upcoming season of ABC’s Once Upon A Time, so if you watch the show reading the book in advanced may come in handy.

5. 'Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children' by Ransom Riggs

This is another excellent book to get in the Halloween mood. As a dark fantasy novel it has all the elements like magic powers and magical creatures that remind you of Halloween. Moreover, the movie is coming out, so you better get reading if you plan on seeing the film.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
