42 Thoughts All Girls Have During Rush

Sorority rush is a time filled with many emotions. Excitement, anxiety, fear and confusion are among some of them. It doesn't happen like it does in the movies, but everyone that has gone through it has a certain bond. Whether or not it was at the same school, every girl knows the thoughts that are racing through each other's heads as they walk into those rooms everyday, and I'm here to shed some light on those thoughts.

1. It's way too early for this.

2. Wait, how many rounds do I have to go to today?

3. When's lunch?

4. There are so many girls in this room. No way I can remember all of them.

5. Sh*t, I already forgot this girl's name.

6. They're seriously not feeding me enough this week.

7. How are these girls smiling so much?

8. These heels are killing me.

9. How does everyone else own such cool clothes?

10. What day of the week is it?

11. Oh look, the sun's setting. Good thing I've been up since 7.

12. I wonder what's for dinner.

13. *Walks into a round with chairs* Thank god.

14. I wonder how long I have to wait before I can eat their food.

15. I've never talked so much in my life.

16. I'm seriously never wearing heels again.

17. What did I just talk about?

18. Am I supposed to know these songs?

19. What do those letters stand for again?

20. I miss my dog.

21. *Eats pizza for sixth meal in a row* I'm never eating pizza again.

22. Just kidding, I'll definitely order some tomorrow.

23. My face hurts from smiling.

24. I wonder if anyone else's feet hurt just as much as mine.

25. My back's starting to hurt.

26. I should've done more fun things over break. I have nothing to talk about.

27. I wonder if my dog misses me.

28. All of these girls look like they know what they're doing. How do they know what they're doing?!?!!?

29. *Tries to tell a joke* That probably wasn't funny.

30. Oh no. I forgot what this girl just asked me.

31. I'd rather be in bed.

32. When is this over?

33. I can't think of one fun fact about me.

34. Do I even have a fun fact?

35. How many more days are there?

35. I still don't think I can learn everyone's name.

36. I wonder if I'm similar to anyone in this room.

37. OK, one more day. I can do this.

38. That means only one more days of heels.

39. I got this.

40. My Rho Gamma didn't prepare me for this.

41. Actually, I don't think anyone could've prepared me for this.

42. *Rush ends* That wasn't so bad. Or was it?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
