The historic town of Chickamauga, Georgia is home to a little over 3,101 people. If you happen to be on of those people, congratulations! This article is for all the residents of Chickamauga who have taken pride of the Southern small town.
1. When people ask where you're from, you just tell them you live near Chattanooga, Tennessee.
2. You pronounce the city as "Chick-a-ma-guh."
3. When you tell people you're from Chickamauga, the phrase that immediately follows is, "Well, you know it's a famous battle in the Civil War and the first National Military Park in the United States."
4. You've been late to events because you (and half the town) got stuck behind the train.
5. While in school, teachers always referred to you by your oldest sibling's name.
6. You still call the Kangaroo gas station the "Golden Gallon."
7. The biggest rival game was Gordon Lee vs. Trion.
8. All the city's north-south avenues are named after Union and Confederate Generals.
9. Basically, every Chickamauga wedding you've ever been to was either at the Gordon Lee Mansion or Lee & Gordon Mills.
10. You can't go to a local restaurant without seeing three or four people you know.
11. The shops in Downtown Chickamauga offer a wide variety of . . . antique shops.
12. You're either team Los Potros or team Guadalajara.
13. Ed's Grocery used to be the place where an underage person could buy tobacco.
14. The official scent of Chickamauga is skunk.
15. Everyone knows your deepest, darkest secret before you even know it and constantly stays in your business. After all, it's Chickamauga.
16. When you refer to "the Godfather," it has a completely different meaning than the movie.
17. The Coke Oven Trail is your idea of outdoorsy fun.
18. Friday night football games are the ultimate class reunion.
19. At some point during your childhood, you've climbed the water tower or chickened out last minute.
20. You know at least one person that is "related to half the town."
21. Your favorite house in town is the D.A. Jewell House.
22. During the spring and summer, you've spent your weekends riding your bike in the Chickamauga Battlefield park.
23. You always wanted to trick-or-treat in Leewood as a kid because they always gave you the most candy.
24. The Gordon Lee Marching Band is always the highlight of every parade and football game.

36. The Food Lion parking lot is the prime location where parents drop-off and pick-up their kids on the weekends.
37. It's hard actually driving the 25 MPH speed limit on the street where is Post Office is located on.
38. If you want to go shopping in Downtown Chickamauga, the shops aren't open on the same days and their hours vary.
39. You sometimes forget that the bypass is the interstate and the speed limit is 55 MPH.
40. In high school, you always wanted to get out of this small town, but you always seem to keep coming back.
