With move-in right around the corner, my room (and my brain) is in literal shambles trying to figure what I need for school and how I (my parents) will possibly fit everything I own in our car and in a tiny dorm room (emphasis on tiny). Stress levels are at an all time high, though my motivation is pretty much nonexistent. Here are 40 thoughts everyone has when packing back up to return to school

1. Okay, there’s a week till move-in, maybe I should start making a list of everything I need to pack

2. Who am I kidding, I still have four days, let's watch some more Netflix

3. * four hours pass by*

4. Okay, now I'm ready to start

5. I should probably get a snack first

6. Oh, there’s a new Tasty video maybe I’ll watch that first then I’ll be ready

7. I’m ready to get organized let's make a list

8. Is that what it feels like to be an adult?

9. Am I adulting?

10. No probably not

11. Okay I'll just Pinterest a list

12. Oh that looks like it has enough

13. Guess I need to take a trip to Target

14. Maybe I’ll find good room décor in the dollar spot

15. I have enough room décor for 4 rooms though maybe I should just avoid the dollar spot

16. But everything there is such a good deal it won't hurt to look, right?

17. Wrong

18. Okay back to the necessities- shampoo, conditioner, hangers, laundry detergent…

19. Made it out of Target with way more than what I came for but hey that’s how you know it was a successful trip

20. Let’s pack some clothes this should be easy

21. How will I know if I’ll want this super cute jacket

22. It's August now but it'll get cool soon

23. I guess I can wait and get it during October break?

24. Do I need this top I haven’t worn in 3 years?

25. Probably

26. What if I need this for a theme party? Throw it in the bin

27. Have I always had this many clothes?

28. I’ll probably just wear the same 4 t-shirts but I guess I should pack 17 more for variety

29. Will I want these wedges? Heels? 28 pairs of sandals? Pack them all

30. My mom said I should probably pack some medicine, guess I'll throw some Nyquil in there and call that a day

31. Will I need this fan? Probably

32. Who’s gonna carry all of this up to my room (answer: not me)

33. Where is this all gonna fit?

34. Hope my roommate won’t mind all of my stuff

35. Maybe I should go to Walgreens and print out every picture I’ve ever taken so I can make the room feel more homey?

36. Oh a speaker, that’s a good idea hope my neighbors don't mind

37. What happened to my list?

38. Maybe I should just go find my mom and see if she’ll help me

39. No, you’re an adult now you can do this

40. On second thought….”MOOOOMMM”

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
