It's been a long hot summer and college students are starting to get hyped about going back to school. As the school year approaches, these are the thoughts that we have when a week before school is approaching.

1. "OMG I'm so excited to see my college friends again!"

2. "Oh crap, I should start packing."

3. "How am I going to fit all of this in my car?"

4. "How did I fit this in my car before when I came home?"

5. "I wonder if my parents know that I'm going back early just to party."

6. "Do I have everything for my classes?"

7. "Do I need to make a Target run?"

8. "Yep, I definitely need to go to Target."

9. "How many command strips will I need?"

10. "Do I buy the cheaper notebooks or the prettier ones?"

11. "I think I need a new bedspread."

12. "Do I need to go through my clothes again? There's no way that I wear all of this."

13. "I can sell some stuff to Plato's closet."

14. "Ugh, I have to go grocery shopping again when I get there."

15. "I hope my classes are easy this year."

16."OK, who am I kidding? These are all super hard."

17. "I hope I don't regret choosing the better professor over the better time."

18. 'I should get a head start."

19. "I cannot wait to be busy again."

20. "Actually give me the school atmosphere back, but not the work."

21. "I need to get out of my hometown."

22. "Aw but I am going to miss my home friends too."

23. "Can they just transfer please?"

24. "They would love the party scene here."

25. "Should I have a house party this year?"

26. "Ooo, I cannot wait for jungle juice and dance with my friends."

27. "I do not miss the sticky floor of frat houses."

28. "Or the fact that they never have toilet paper."

29. "Do I have to change my location on my dating apps?"

30. "Will my matches be cuter now that I'll be in school?"

31. "Will I go to the gym this year?"

32. "I already said I would get a summer bod... guess that's not happening."

33. "I'm going to have so much responsibility again."

34. "And freedom."

35. "I have to start doing my own laundry again, like weekly."

36. "Should I actually try to cook this year? I feel like I only have time for meal punches and lean cuisines."

37. "I should check Rate My Professor again."

38. "Do I need more pens?"

39. "Do I have time for any more clubs this year?"

40. "I actually can't wait to be back though."

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
