The beginning of school can come with a lot of stress, and home work, exams and papers can start to appear pretty much out of thin air making you feel like a shell of your former self. Some people have a grace period, but if you’re like me, its day three and you’ve already been in the library for around three hours (I say as I currently write this from the library). But, fear not, there are so many more things that make being back at Lehigh University the most wonderful thing to happen that also make all the work totally worth it.

1. My friends

2. Eating healthier because I have fewer unhealthy options

3. The daily exercise that comes from walking up and down the hill

4. Staying up late because if you don’t, you miss out.

5. New school supplies are just the most wonderful thing ever

6. Seeing people I knew last year, and still being friends with them this year

7. Being back with my roommate from last year

8. The social life that comes with, that’s all I’m going to say.

9. Running into old professors who I harassed and finding out they still think of me as the nutty girl who always came to office hours

10. Having a more organized schedule than at home

11. Linderman Library becoming my second home, once again.

12. Seeing my friends’ new houses or apartments.

13. The front lawn with all the people on it while the weather is so nice.

14. Getting that tour guide swag (an awesome rugby) that was promised last year

15. Starting the year out with a perfectly clean and organized room

16. Watching said room get messier as my life gets messier

17. Cosi

18. Wawa

19. Reclaiming the chair in the library that I spent the entirety of finals in.

20. Knowing everyone else is scared about Organic Chemistry, as well.

21. That moment of safety when you realize you came back with the same amount of friends you left with

22. Planning this year’s Dance Marathon as a part of exec versus just a club member.

23. Seeing President Simon’s Instagram posts and knowing those events are all happening right around me

24. Football season, even with our lack of school spirit

25. What campus looks like in the fall

26. And how much I can’t wait until it actually becomes fall

27. How cute the freshmen are with their confused looks walking around

28. How none of us are burnt out yet, and we look well rested (for now).

29. Celebrating coming back to school with a variety of different organizations, because why not.

30. Having a full fridge of fresh food that I do not have to replenish for at least a week.

31. Having clean dishes, for all of one day.

32. Having an air-conditioned apartment and room

33. Being able to drink copious amounts of coffee without my mom yelling at me.

34. Finding new things to get involved in

35. Being super busy, because there’s nothing better in my opinion than having a lot of things you love on your plate.

36. Reminiscing on my freshmen year as I watch the freshmen this year because it really was the best and the worst of times.

37. Finding little things to improve upon from the past years, and actually accomplishing those things.

38. Being with people my own age after being with my parents and the kids I nanny all summer long.

39. New clothes because you can never have too many sundresses.

40. Reminding myself how lucky I am to go to a school like this.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
