40 Struggles Millennials Face That My Parents Didn't At Age 20

Society has made much progress since my parents were my age. There are still, however, struggles that millennials face that our parents didn't experience at our age. Here's a list of obstacles, struggles, and questions millennials have that other generations before did not at the age of 20.

1. Waiting for my show to buffer

2. Waiting for my Spotify commercial to buffer

3. Encountering someone I kinda know on Tinder and not being sure if I give the a courtesy right swipe or what

4. $3 gas

5. Accidentally double-tapping while 6 months deep into someone's Instagram

6. Accidentally tagging the wrong person

7. Battery life

8. Someone ruining the ending of "Orange Is The New Black"

9. Losing my Snapchat Streak

10. Having to live in my family's basement because I can't afford a place to live

11. The gun in the new IOS update is a water gun

12. Remembering to go on private for Spotify so my Facebook friends don't know I've been listening to showtunes for 5 hours straight

13. Having journalists write articles on why we don't eat cereal or buy diamonds

14. Not being able to afford diamonds in any sense

15. Having a few decades of history added to my curriculum

16. Not being sure if I should enter this inner-lip tattoo trend

17. Not being able to afford gentrified areas where my parents used to be afraid of getting shot

18. Having to sell my soul to afford my Bachelor's

19. Having to find something else to sell for my Master's because it costs more

20. Intimidating clowns wandering college campuses

21. Brexit

22. New, weird health trends

23. Watching "Spongebob" crumble in quality in front of my eyes

24. Being like 4 for the 2000 New Year's Eve because it was probably the best New Year's Eve ever in existence and I can't remember it

25. Bees dying

26. People uploading embarrassing pictures of me

27. Read receipts

28. The Californian Drought

29. Peanuts aka peanut butter going extinct

30. Why there are so many successful cupcake based television shows

31. Why "American Horror Story" keeps having subpar seasons

32. Why my patronus is a grass snake

33. Why Rose didn't make room for Jack on the door

35. Why JT had to get stabbed in "Degrassi"

37. Not knowing which browser tab is playing music

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
