Being a skincare addict and traveling are two things that often don't go together very well, but it doesn't have to be that way. I've gone on quite a few trips in my lifetime; these are the tips and tricks that I've picked up along the way.
1. Use samples.
If you shop at Sephora (or literally any other cosmetics store), you probably have a bunch of samples just sitting in your drawer, waiting to expire. Be sure to bring those with you when you travel because they're often small, easy to carry and non-committal. Just make sure you patch test a bit first!
2. Decant your products.
Whenever I was little, my mom would pour out my shampoo and moisturizer, etc. into little travel-size containers. If your favorite product doesn't come in a travel-size, you can simply DIY it. Plus, this way you can control exactly how much you want.
3. Pack glass bottles with clothing.
If you have any glass bottles that you're packing but you don't want them to break, wrap them in your clothing. This will cushion them from any potential impacts and prevent breakage (as long as you wrap them thoroughly)!
4. Bring supplies for the plane ride.
Plane air is possibly the best dehydrator in the world. Make sure to pack a "plane kit" with you. Mine usually consists of hydrogel eye patches, a few sheet masks, a face mist, a moisturizer and a hand cream. Happy travels!
