The fall weather is upon us, which means that cold and flu season is right behind it. Every year, we all dread getting the plague that runs rampant through schools and offices but here are some tips to help you stay healthy and *hopefully* avoid getting sick.
1. Take vitamin C daily
Vitamin C helps boots the immune system to prevent the common cold. It can be found in tablets or you can opt to eat foods rich in Vitamin C like oranges. Leafy greens, strawberries, raspberries, cauliflower, and broccoli are also rich in this vitamin.
2. Get extra sleep
Getting at least seven hours of sleep each night can help the body fight off viruses and will help you stay healthier longer.
3. Healthy diet
Having a healthy diet that is high in protein helps your immune system stay in tip top shape.
4. Exercise
Sweat it out! Exercise helps increase circulation and blood flow which help the components of your immune system function better and will help fight off viruses.
