Tis the season for holiday sales, especially when it comes to video games! Online retailers like Steam, Xbox Store, and the Playstation Network are having some great sales right now on games! If video games are not your thing, maybe a friend or a relative may like it! So, if you're looking to snag a couple great games for $30 or less, here are some games for you to look out for!
DOOM (2016)
This is a reboot of the classic first-person shooter (FPS) franchise that came out in 1993 on PC. You are the DOOM Marine, awakened from a deep slumber to eliminate the threat of the Hell after an energy-harvesting endeavor goes wrong. Everything is big and awesome - the weapons, the enemies, the environment; I'm not a big FPS person, but I do enjoy hack and slash games, and this game reminded me of that as I'm slaughtering demons! Again, if you're not an FPS person, but if you love splattering demons and want an amazing campaign (story mode) experience, this is the game for you!
Heads up, this game has some intense violence and gore!
Fallout 4
I just bought this and I am new to the "Fallout" franchise. I'm a fan of action and role playing games so I had to try it out! The game takes place 10 years after the last game (I wouldn't worry too much about
Grand Theft Auto 5
One of the most successful video games to come out this generation, Grand Theft Auto V have an endless amount of possibilities. GTA5 is typically praised for its sandbox element, but its campaign had memorable characters and an engaging story. With the open world sandbox capabilities of "Minecraft," and the unlimited opportunities for customizations, there is a reason why it is one of the most best-selling games of all time. And there is always content coming!
Inside
This game won best independent (indie) game award for 2016! It made by the same people responsible for "Limbo." Like "Limbo," you control an unnamed boy, but you're on an adventure to unveil devious machinations . It is a puzzle platform game that requires trial and error to know what to do. It also has rather gruesome deaths for your protagonist if you get it wrong, so be careful! The way the story unfolds without dialogue is amazing, too. This was such a beautiful and impactful game, and one of the reasons some people consider video games an art form.
This is just a sample of all the great games out there on sale right now! Mind your wallet and collect some good stuff! Happy holidays!
