4 Easy Ways to Monetize Your Blog (Even if You Have a Small Audience)

Who wouldn't want to easily make money off their blog? You have the passion, skills, and personality for this type of craft. At first, it started off as a hobby but then you really started to take off. You've built a solid readership (other than friends and family) and gained an engaged following. It may not be in the tens of thousands but it's a start.

Unfortunately, that website and domain subscription won't pay itself. Not to mention you literally dream of quitting your day job so you can stay home and write. You've seen how others make a living with their blog and now you want your slice of the pie.

Ready to learn the secrets to monetizing your blog in the easiest ways possible?

Read on to find out!

Offer Coaching Services

This may sound like a cliche but hear me out. Your audience obviously consists of the people you're targeting but don't forget: other bloggers read your content too.

Most likely they read your blog because they like your style but are also using you as inspiration. They want to write like you, take pictures like you, and/or grow their own blog like yours.

So, why not offer to coach? Those who feel too awkward to reach out for help will instead purchase one of your coaching services. You can start off by offering a 30 minute Skype session to answer your client's burning questions then to an intensive one-on-one session that goes more into detail on how they can improve their blog.

Sell Online Courses

How would you love to make money while you sleep? Selling online courses is a type of passive income bloggers need to offer their audience.

Similar to coaching, you can design a course to teach people a certain skill (like writing better, taking photos with an iPhone, etc.). Then, you create a video of the length you choose and place it in your shop for sale. Those interested can then access the video either permanently or you can set it to where the file will expire after a few days.

The best thing about this money-making tactic is that there's no effort needed. After the video is completed, nothing else is required. With that said, make sure your content is valuable for years to come.

Get Into Affiliate Marketing

Another type of passive income, affiliate marketing consists of using links. Those links then lead to a product page and if that visitor buys the product, you get a commission from the company.

Sounds easy, right? Well, it is.

It's especially useful if your blog does reviews. No matter which type of products you're interested in, there's a program for you.

But there's one thing to bear in mind: keep it to products your audience will be interested in. Linking to a yacht or a luxury SUV when your blog's focus is on being frugal isn't a good match.

Accept Ads

While ads are annoying to visitors at most, they can make you a nice buck. It's all in the placement to balance out not losing visitors and keeping the ad salesmen happy.

With that said, placing ads below the fold of your website is the best. That way, those visiting aren't bombarded with videos or needless products. But you'll keep those taking out an ad on your site pleased as well.

The rule of thumb when it comes to advertisements is to keep it to a minimum. And if you're not using a service (like Google AdSense) then choose companies that'll be a good match for your blog.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
