If you are having trouble hearing, then it may be time for you to consider purchasing a hearing aid. But the multiple varieties and models of hearing aids available in the market can make you confused as to which one to buy and which to avoid. To help you make the right choice, we have listed below four things you must consider when buying hearing aids

Trial Period

Most hearing aids will come with a trial period. If you find that you are not comfortable utilizing the device, you can return the product and receive a refund or exchange it for another device. If a specific model does not have a trial period, then it is better that you avoid it. Plus, remember that it will usually take a couple of weeks for you to adjust to the hearing aid. As such, the trial period must at least be valid for 30 days. Devices that come with a 7 day or 14 day trial periods are best avoided.

Battery

Check the battery and make sure that they will last for a long time. Generally, the smaller the hearing aid, the smaller will be the battery and the faster you will have to replace them. And if the batteries drain too fast, then you will have to spend more time replacing them every now and then. This obviously is undesirable. So, make sure to check the battery life of the device, and choose one which lasts the longest.

Controls

Inspect the controls of the hearing aid. Are they easy for you or do you find them difficult to use? Hearing aids will usually auto adjust its settings to ensure that the person is comfortable with the sounds he hears. But there will be times when you have to manually adjust the settings of the device. As such, the more difficult it is to adjust the settings; the more irritating it can be for you. So, ensure that you try out adjusting the settings of the hearing aid before you purchase it.

Recommendations

If you have friends who are using the hearing aids, their recommendations can be valuable. The same holds true for the numerous customer reviews you find online. However, you must only take such recommendations as a general indication of a product’s quality, and not as an absolute judgment. This is because the quality of a hearing aid is a subjective issue. A hearing aid which one person finds to be of good quality may not be suitable for another person. So, consider their recommendations, but only purchase a hearing aid after you test out the product yourself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
