Everyone loves being home for winter break and spending time with friends and family, but everyone also has their moments that they wish they were back at school! Dining hall food, small cramped dorm rooms, and school work aren't necessarily the things we miss, but you grow to love it all because it's your home away from home!

1. My friends

Spending every second with your friends at school, to not seeing them for a month is rough. My friends at school have become a second family to me! Going to a school out of state means most of the friends I have made don't live close to me, so I don't get to see most of them while I'm home on break!

2. Freedom

Freedom to do whatever you want, when you want. Being home is great, but once you live on your own, you're never going to want to live with your parents again! You don't have to tell someone where you're going, or when you'll be back, life is just so much simpler!

3. There is always Entertainment

Living in a dorm means you live in a building with a few hundred people. That means there is always someone to hang out with, get food with, go shopping with or watch Netflix with! Plus when there isn't anything you and your friends can come up with, there is always something going on around campus whether there's a movie playing or a party!

4. Routines

When I was at school I woke up at a certain time, went to class, took a nap, went to the gym, ate meals, did homework, and hang out with my friends all around the same time every single day. Coming home and having so much free time, makes me miss the planned out, structured days I had at school!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
