Childhood is an amazing time for most people. There are a lot of things that we took for granted as a child. Now we look back on those things and wish we could still have them in our lives today. Our days used to be made up of school, a page of homework, and riding our bike around our neighborhood until dinner was ready. Our biggest worries were how long we could play at the park or if the cute boy in our class liked us.

1. Nap time

This one is a given. Everyone wishes that at school or work there would be an hour devoted to napping. Kids used to throw temper tantrums trying to avoid nap time, now we would do almost anything for a nap. Sometimes you've had a hard day and coffee just isn't doing the trick anymore. Also, how amusing would it be to walk into an office and see everyone curled up with blankets next to their cubicle.

2. Playing with your neighbors

Having your friends surrounding you, physically, comes in handy during childhood. Neighbors are always there to ride bikes, play sports, or get into trouble with you. They are a constant source of entertainment and you always have someone to play with. Can you imagine how fun it would be to have all of your adult friends live in the same apartment complex?

3. Snacks

Remember those days when you didn't know what a calorie was and you thought you were healthy if you had one vegetable a day? Those were the good times. Kids get to eat sugary, carb loaded snacks with very little consequences. Snacks are also a lot more relevant in a kids life. Snack time is a legitimate break from school where you get to sit with all your friends and eat. Also, kids get to eat the coolest foods. Do you think it is still acceptable for adults to eat Fruit By The Food or Go-Gurt?

4. Play dates and sleepovers

I remember I used to get so excited when my mom would schedule a play date or sleepover. Someone manages your social schedule for you and you are so enthusiastic that you get to play with one friend for an extended period of time. Playdates give you the opportunity to show your friends you room and all your toys.

Now adults, I know our lives aren't as simple or fun as they were when we were children, but there are a lot of cool things we can do now that we weren't aloud to do then. Go treat yourselves to a box of Lucky Charms and reflect on how fun childhood was.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
