For all seniors graduating either this upcoming spring or next December, there are many things to think about. You've probably been bombarded with questions over Thanksgiving and Christmas break from relatives asking what you're doing with your life after graduation. These questions are terrifying and panic-inducing to say the least.

Over the course of the last few weeks, after fall semester has finally ended, things are getting real. You start to actually break out in a sweat and realize that you need a plan and that the "real world" really is right around the corner. But, have no fear because everyone is in the same boat.

Here are some questions you already have asked yourself, or inevitably will in the next few weeks:

1. What am I doing with my life after graduation?

2. How do I adult?

3. Why is everyone getting engaged?

4. Do I reallly have to go to grad school?

5. How do people already have jobs lined up after graduation?

6. Why do I still feel like a teenager?

7. Can I be a freshman again?

8. What day am I even graduating?

9. Should I stop wearing the same sweatshirt every day?

10. Does this mean I have to act more mature?

11. What if I messed up my classes and can't even graduate this spring?

12. Why are people my age having babies...

13. Does this business outfit make me look like I know what I'm doing?

14. How will I hold a job if I can't even give a presentation without my voice cracking?

15. Does this mean I have to eat more like an adult?

16. No more dinosaur chicken nuggets...?

17. How will I hold a job if I still get nervous ordering at restaurants?

18. What's are the minimum grades I can get this semester?

19. Do jobs really care about my GPA?

20. How bad is the GRE?

21. Did I send in my grad app...

22. What will I do not seeing my friends every day?

23. Why are senior finals a thing?

24. How can I stay an extra year here?

25. Why does it feel like just yesterday I was applying to college?

26. How do people afford to live on their own?

27. If I barely make it to my 11 a.m. class how will I be at work by 9?

28. Should I have picked a different major?

29. Why do I have to pay to apply to grad school?

30. Is it true that if I don't go to grad school now I'll never want to?

31. Is my last semester supposed to be this hard or did I not plan well?

32. Should I have been saving money this whole time...

33. Is there a job that requires no human interaction?

34. How badly am I gonna miss this?

35. Can I stay at JMU forever?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
