33 Signs You Grew Up In Chappaqua
The New York Times

Ah, Chappaqua. The woodland, suburban, wealthy town of Westchester County. Conveniently located approximately 40 minutes from NYC, has one of the best public high schools in the country and home to our former President and 2016 Presidential Candidate Bill and Hilary Clinton. Chappaqua sounds perfect, right? Well, it is far from that, but it is where I will always call home. Let's take a trip down memory lane and take a look at 33 signs you grew up in this crazy town.

1. You went to Horace Greeley High School.

2. You have seen Bill and Hilary Clinton in Langes.

3. Your car got hit in the senior lot at Greeley.

4. You could not decide whether to go to Pizza Station, Mario's or Old Stone.

5. You have always wondered why your high school mascot was a Quaker.

6. You went to Rockies when you were so belligerently drunk you couldn't even walk.

7. Girls, you wore a tight, black dress to Homecoming.

8. Admit it or not, you loved reading ask.fm.

9. You stopped going to Rite Aid because Walgreens was better.

10. You did not go to The Chappaqua Diner, you went to The Pleasantville or The Mount Kisco Diner.

11. You called Chappaqua "The Qua" or "The Bubble."

12. You had a preference between Rockies, Langes and Vills. (Rockies FTW!)

13. Over 20 people from your graduating class went to The University of Michigan.

14. You hated the Freshman at Greeley, but you once were one.

15. Your childhood was destroyed when Auntie Penny closed.

16. Your friend group was super cliquey until after Smusical. (Senior Musical)

17. You thought it was foolish when people would try to make sayings like "Fear the Quake" to make a Quaker sound intimidating.

18. You got lit and destroyed an underclassman's house.

19. You had a senior name so colleges could not find your Facebook profile.

20. Every time you have driven through town, you have seen a University of Michigan sticker on the back of a car.

21. You have spent nights just driving around with your friends because Chappaqua got boring.

22. Town was filled with middle schoolers from Bell every Friday after school.

23. You knew kids that made raps on SoundCloud.

24. You knew someone in Life School.

25. Every time you went to Kisco you saw someone from Chappaqua.

26. You thought Bell looked like a jail.

27. You know someone who worked at Ootra.

28. The cars in the senior lot at Greeley were nicer then the staff lot.

29. You told people you lived in the "914."

30. You have heard people call Chappaqua "JAPpaqua."

31. You called the senior lot the "slot."

32. You have had times when you have loved Greeley and times when you have absolutely hated it.

33. You thought you would never get out, but you finally did.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
