There are plenty of self-care tips out there, whether it involves face masks and journaling or meditating and being positive. These are just some of my favorite ways to pamper/take care of myself when I'm trying to relax.

1. Take a warm bath or shower

2. Do a face mask

3. Read a good book

4. Write in a daily journal

5. Drink some green tea or your drink of choice

6. Watch your favorite movie while eating Ben and Jerry’s

7. Plan your day out for tomorrow

8. Browse some online clothing shops

9. Lay in bed with a cozy blanket and your dog

10. Take a nap

11. Tidy up your room (a clean room is never a bad idea)

12. Make a relaxing playlist of your favorite songs

13. Call up a friend to come over and have a pamper night

14. Get your nails done

15. Hang out with your significant other and binge-watch a Netflix series

16. Put your phone away so you aren’t tempted by social media

17. Use an oil diffuser with a “stress relief” essential oil

18. Create a nighttime routine to help you relax before bed (skincare, reading, journaling, etc.)

19. Go for a walk

20. Do yoga or meditate

21. Cook yourself a healthy dinner

22. Make a list of goals for the next month

23. Write down what you’re grateful for

24. Have a movie marathon

25. Explore new music

26. Go to the gym (exercising releases endorphins that make you feel great)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.
