"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" is one of the most surprisingly relevant and relatable shows ever to exist. This is ironic, considering it is about a Midwestern woman who was locked in a bunker underground after she and a couple other women were convinced by a psychotic preacher that the outside world had been destroyed by a nuclear war.
It is amazing how often I say "same" when binge-watching the show on Netflix. Kimmy Schmidt could honestly be based on me—at least somewhat. (Shhh. I do not want people knowing about my time in the bunker. I do not like talking about it.) I constantly send praise to the heavens for inspiring Tina Fey to create such amazing content. Kimmy is a great role model for positivity, friendship, and even feminism. So, for all those college students who see themselves in the endearingly ambitious Kimmy Schmidt, I give you 30 Times You Were Kimmy Schmidt:
When you figure out the RTA bus system on campus.
When you realized you are (kind of) an adult and can (kind of) make your own decisions.
When you understand the consequences of your decisions.
When you decide to have a girl's night.
When you go to a club for the first time.
When you try alcohol for the first time.
When you get drunk for the first time.
When you wake up the day after your first drink(s).
When you get an A on an exam—especially after forgetting to study for it.
When you have been single for too long.
When you try to be casual in front of your crush and fail.
When your crush tells an awful joke, but you laugh anyway because they are cute.
When you try to seduce your crush.
When you become a feminist.
When you try to talk to a professor as an equal.
When your teenage sibling gives you sass.
When you attempt to put on makeup.
When you really do not understand modern culture.
When your sleep schedule gets seriously messed up.
When you try to show the haters who's the boss, but you are far too nice to actually accomplish doing so.
When you tell someone your deepest, darkest secret.
When your birthday disappoints you... every single year.
When your endorphins start doing their thing as you work out.
When you are done working out/experience the post-workout crash.
When the haters absolutely will not back off.
When you take a philosophy (or psychology) course and decide to enlighten others.
When you decide to audition for a theatrical production.
When a friend tells you they are getting married while they are still in college.
When all you have ever wanted is to be a Disney Princess.
And finally, a bonus relatable moment: when you were kept in an underground bunker for 15 years by an insane preacher.
