30 Thoughts You Have While Moving Into Your College House
Rentrance

If you're a senior at BU, you're probably either just moving into your senior house or have been there for a few months. Regardless of when your lease started, I'm sure some (if not all) of these thoughts have passed through your mind when moving in.

1. Why is everything broken and dirty?

2. Are these windows even insulated?

3. This bathroom is not big enough for four people...

4. Why doesn't the wifi reach the second floor?

5. Moving out is really going to suck.

6. Why don't my windows stay open?

7. Where did I pack my _________? Did I forget it, or is it just lost in the universe forever?

8. How am I supposed to carry this queen mattress up the stairs?

9. I have sooooooooooooooooooo much shit.

10. THERE'S. A. BUG. IN. THE. TUB.

11. Damn, my closet is huge!!

12. I think if I leave this ceiling fan on for more than 30 seconds it will fall off the ceiling and slice me.

13. What's this weird stain on the carpet?

14. How did so many mosquitos get in here?!?

15. Thank you to the most previous residents for leaving this enormous couch in my bedroom.

16. Also, thank you to the most previous residents for leaving beer cans and caps all over this house (including the front lawn).

17. We are paying way too much money for this shit.

18. Sure, I'll paint my room myself!!

19. I love getting locked inside my bedroom because the door is too big for the frame and won't open when closed.

20. Weren't they supposed to fix all this broken stuff before we moved in?

21. Who has the paper towels/bleach/clorox wipes/screw driver?

22. We need to steam-clean the nasty out of these couches.

23. Does anyone actually own a vacuum?

24. I can't believe we're so old.

25. Did we pick a name yet?

26. We should get a fire pit!

27. If we ever have a party, we have to make it BYO booze/chairs/food.

28. Our landlord is going to love us for making this house so beautiful; he should really be giving us money back.

29. I think this will actually be ok (or at least I'm going to tell myself that it will be).

30. This is either going to terribly horribly chaotic, or the best year ever.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
