Step into the life of a pale girl.
1. Why bother trying to tan? You just burn, peel, then go back to normal anyways.
2. While most girls complain about how pasty they are during the winter, you feel a little bad about yourself. Why? Because being pale isn't seasonal for you, it's an everyday thing.
3. The struggle is real when your whole immediate family, besides you, turns tan during the summer.
4. You spend some time wondering why you got the pale, pasty gene. Life simply isn't fair sometimes.
5. Haven't shaved in five days? Better wear long pants because leg hair and pale skin just don't work out. Your hair sticks out like a sore thumb.
6. And if you did just shave, you better savor it while you can because most likely, you'll be getting a noticeable shadow later that day.
7. Admit it, at some point in your life you've tried the fake tanning lotion that you continually rub on your legs, arms, and stomach every day. And it probably left streaks and turned your hands orange.
8. You love the beach, swimming, and other activities out in the sun, but you are continually putting on sunscreen any chance you get.
9. No matter how many times you put sunscreen on though, somehow you still get burnt.
10. You've been dubbed the nickname lobster or tomato at least once. And if you haven't, then you're lucky.
11. You've probably worn a t-shirt in the pool when you were badly sunburnt, but you still wanted to have fun.
12. Aloe Vera is your summertime best friend.
13. Finding foundation to match your skin tone is so difficult.
14. And you get kind of jealous of the girls who can wear the darker shades of makeup.
15. You can't wear certain colors because they make you look even more pasty and they wash you out.
16. When you turn red people can see it from a mile away. Embarrassed? Get ready for your whole face to turn red. Just got your lip waxed? Get ready for it to look like you just drank Kool-Aid. You can't win.
17. Sunglasses are wonderful. Until you get very noticeable raccoon eyes.
18. Your friends and family are always putting their arm next to yours to compare how tan they are to you.
19. But don't worry guys, it's fine. Really, it's cute when you put your tan, gold skin, next to my fair, pale, porcelain skin.
20. You've noticed that the bottom part of your arm has always been a very pale color. Even the tops of your arms get some color, even if that color is red.
21. When you take a picture and someone says, "Wow, you look super tan!" and you have to explain that it's just the lighting. You're really a pale ghost.
22. When people ask you if you're feeling well and you just want to scream that you're not sick, you're just pale.
23. You don't just get sunburnt on bright, sunny days, but also on cloudy days when the sun is barely shining. The sun always finds us pale people.
24. You bruise like a peach and the bruises show up really well on your skin.
25. Your mom and dad are always reminding you to put sunscreen on when you're out in the sun.
26. And sometimes you even have the audacity to tell them you don't need it or lie and say you already put some on because you just want to have fun already.
27. You realize that Howie from "The Benchwarmers" might just have the right idea. "Outside bad, sun scary. It's not my friend. It wants to hurt me."
28. You hate sunburns, but you hate sitting in the shade and freezing even more.
29. You understand the pain of the guy from "Lilo and Stitch" who is always rocking the sunburn.
30. You have learned to just accept your skin for what it is because it's not going to change.
