Halloween may not be as big as Christmas or Thanksgiving but it's still an awesome Fall holiday. Halloween is the time to go out, dress up as your favorite idol or character, collect free candy and have a lot of fun. It's also the time of the coolest decorations, in my opinion, and a key moment in childhood. Halloween doesn't have to only be celebrated only by trick or treating though; here are three other ways to celebrate Halloween with a group!
1. Have a get together on Mischief Night
Informally known as Halloween Eve, Mischief Night is when kids and teens engage in pranks and vandalism. Not the best of "holidays" but it can be fun with the right people. Set up a get together with friends or family, have a campfire, listen to some ghoulish holiday tunes and tell some spooky stories. This is a great way to ring in the holiday as it lets you enjoy the spirit of Halloween longer. (And if that's not enough, you get to watch your house and chase people away!)
2. Have a Halloween movie marathon
If you're not a fan of freezing outside, make a list of your favorite Halloween movies! Thrillers, horror, slasher and suspense films is a big movie genre filled with many Halloween possibilities. There are monsters and ghouls and of course family films about the holiday itself. Over the years there's been tons of films and you'll definitely find something for every kind of movie viewer. So get comfy, settle in and enjoy the show; you may not want to leave!
3. Do the Monster Mash!
Not into staying in and looking for something fun to do with your friends? Then there's always the classic of attending or hosting a party. Parties can be a lot of fun and are perfect for letting loose and just having a good time. I personally think Halloween parties are the best because you can come in costume and you have a chance to be judged on your costumes, so you really get to go all out. Plus, the music is amazing at Halloween parties and you can play all sorts of spooky themed games. I've always had the most fun at Halloween parties!
Halloween is a thrilling time of year and it's a great way to spend time with friends and family. You're never too old for Halloween!
