Many of us work; others go to school; some do both and much more. We all know what that can bring us stress. Having a lot of tasks on our plates may cause us a significant amount of stress, which can be counterproductive and weaken our performance. I don't suggest using pills or other substances as remedies of stress relief. Instead, I believe that there are natural stress relievers, which may be practiced daily or even weekly. Here, I will discuss three of these remedies in particular and how they are beneficial.
1. Jogging
I don't mean the typical treadmill running, I mean a nice and slow jog in the outdoor world. I find that I am more at ease when I jog at sunset while listening to good house music. No matter how much homework I have or how early I have to wake up the next day, I still find time to jog because it makes me energetic and stress-free. Additionally, I find that jogging boosts my self-esteem and makes me feel physically and mentally strong.
2. Yoga
Through yoga, you will learn to release the thoughts in your mind, ease the tension in your body, and sharpen your focus--and then voila, your body will lift! Essentially, yoga not only helps you to become physically toned and fit, but also brings you calmness, and enlightenment. I practice yoga once every week, and it helps me clear my mind when I'm under a lot of stress.
3. Meditating
If done frequently, meditation allows you to control your thoughts and emotions. I meditate at least three times a week, and when I do, I perform much better in school than when I don't. Many people may dismiss mediation because they reject spirituality, and they feel as though the two are inter-related. Although there is a similarity among them, the good news is, you doesn’t have to be religious, or spiritual to engage in spiritual activities. The point here is not to become spiritual; the goal is to release stress and sharpen your focus for enlightenment. If the dog can do it, so can you!
I have focused on the three stress-relieving remedies that have helped me through these my last few months of my life, and I would hope that they help you as well. Remember that over-stress, anxiety, and worry are not factors of productivity but must be controlled in order for you to stay motivated and achieve success to the best of your ability. Good luck!
