3 Simple Reasons Why You Should Avoid Procrastination

It is not a good thing to do what you can do today, tomorrow. It might be too late. You must definitely learn about some of the reasons why procrastination is bad for you.

Have you ever got something on your mind that you feel so reluctant to talk about before?. I mean have you felt so shy to express your innermost feelings to the people you love and care about?. Maybe you are the kind who feels uninspired to get a job done or work hard for your lofty goals.

Let me steal a few minutes of your precious time to tell you about some of the reasons why procrastination is bad for you. Often, we postpone some of the important things that need to be addressed as soon as possible.

And the sad truth is; you don't know what will happen in the next few minutes. The habit of procrastination has made a lot of people regret losing bigger opportunities in life. I never want my readers to go through such kind of negative feeling. In view of that, you will find out from this post why procrastination is bad for you.

Please, a word of caution, before you think about taking action or a decision about something, make sure it is worthy. I mean think twice before you do anything. Never be impulsive, else you will make a reckless move that will destroy your life.

If I'm here telling you to avoid procrastination, I don't mean you should lose your reasoning power. Your conscience must be at work.

Considering Your Reasons For Such Behavior

It happens that those who procrastinate about almost everything have their own reasons. Which apparently shows a negative mindset. I don't think you have a valid excuse to procrastinate about something crucial.

You cannot turn back the hand of the clock backward. So be very cautious about the things you postponed. If you are out there and you wish to see something happened – like for your crush to be your real girlfriend, then the only means to make your wishes come true is by taking action.

Go ahead and propose before it is too late!. Don't move around with that sickening feeling because you are sitting on your own feelings. Let it out and be free.

Now, let's consider some of the reasons most people use as an excuse for their procrastination:

1.Fear of rejection

People find it difficult to express themselves or go in for what they really want in life. Because they fear to hear "No" as an answer from the people we need their company, approval or concern.

I haven't yet known anyone who has faced too many rejections than Jack Ma, the 'brain' behind Alibaba Company. He became used to rejection because it helped him to fight for what is really meant for him. Rejection helps to find the right path.

2.Laziness

You may be one of the lazy guys who always justify their laziness with frivolous excuses. Stand up and go for what your heart desires. Remember the fact that tomorrow is not promised — so don't procrastinate a second. Bruce Lee once said if you think too much of a thing you may feel lazy to take action over it.

"If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done. Make at least one definite move daily toward your goal."

–Bruce Lee

3.Shyness

This point is about the introvert and anyone who lacks confidence. Procrastination is a bad thing for anyone who feels shy to speak his mind. You may lose a bigger opportunity because your negative mindset will always prevent you from moving forward in life.

4.Lack of self-esteem

It sounds like a crime to me to hear about anyone who doesn't value himself. If you think of yourself as unworthy for greater things, then surely you will not be able to increase in value. You will lose respect and your potentials in life. Train your mind by making your daily inspirational thoughts worthy of transforming your life.

3 simple Reasons Why Procrastination Is Bad For You

The end result of procrastinating could be heartbreaking. If you don't want to hurt your own feelings then express them when the needs arise. There is a saying that "had I known is always at last." Take a look at some of the reasons why procrastination is bad for you.

1.You lose great opportunities if you don't act fast.

2.You would have to deal with different kinds of negative emotions like broken heart, stress, and depression which may end up in health disorders.

3.Procrastination can make you incompetent and unreliable, especially if you are a leader.

A Quick Story About The Bad Side Of Procrastination

A little girl who was staying with her granny had so many questions to ask. But because of shyness, she kept on postponing it. Even during a family gathering which happens once in a Blue Moon; she still feels unprepared to ask her granny those important questions.

She was curious to know about the youthful experience of her granny so that she can learn valuable lessons from it. And those questions were circulating in her mind every now and then; thinking there is much time.

One day, she woke up and heard her granny has given up the ghost. This young girl cried bitterly because there would never ever be another chance to express her innermost feelings.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
